Special ice Productions

The special productions developed by Holiday on Ice take into consideration the specific requests of each partner. Live entertainment specially produced to be part of the portfolio of a theme park or fair demands tailoring as regards length, seasonality and theme. Upon request, a particular story or certain theme park characters can be incorporated into the show.

Holiday on Ice delivers complete productions from ice floor through sound and light equipment, to a highly skilled cast of skaters, stunning costumes, sets and spectacular special effects as well as marketing support and a production team to ensure the flawless run of the show.

Holiday on Ice can produce a show for almost any venue, although the ice floor requires a space of at least 18,60 by 20 metres. Under certain circumstances, it may be possible to perform at open-air events. Because of production and rehearsal costs, a minimum of a three-week run is required. The ice floor equipment is transported in three 20-foot containers, while the show itself can occupy as many as 15 containers, depending on the scale of the special production. The number of skaters, shows per day, acts and the length of the show are tailored to each project and budget.

How we work

Our first step is to gain a full understanding of the project. In order to prepare a proposal, we need to know the period, number of weeks and number of shows, as well as the location, seating capacity and technical specifications of the venue. While Holiday on Ice provides the show itself, our partners are responsible for rider costs and arranging a suitable venue, along with a complete staff ranging from ushers and ticketing agents, to security staff and stagehands. Production support is also required for the get-in and get-out of the show.

In addition to the production details, Holiday on Ice needs to know the target audience, ticketing price and promotional campaign. Based on this information, a proposal is then presented together with the concept of the show. This can be tailored to the needs and scale of the event. The proposal also provides a complete breakdown of what is to be provided by each party. For further information, please fill in the contact form.

Theme parks

Our experience and capabilities as a producer of top-quality shows and international tours have allowed Holiday on Ice to penetrate a new segment. In addition to its touring productions, Holiday on Ice now provides theme parks, fairs and large-scale events with turnkey live entertainment.

Full houses

A Holiday on Ice spectacular also offers a wide range of possibilities for corporate events. A dedicated performance during one of the regular tours, a so-called full house, is an excellent way to entertain business contacts or employees in an unforgettable manner. Both show and venue can be tailored to the event. Product placement, branding, catering, speeches, the presentation of awards and even an after-show party can be arranged.

Show

Each Holiday on Ice production travels with a group of approximately 75 people, which includes performers, crew and staff. Holiday on Ice provides the complete show, that is, costumes, props, decor, stage and sound, light and ice floor systems. The ice and the show equipment is packed and transported in standard 20-foot containers: the show itself requires approximately 18 containers, and an ice floor 3 containers. The total production value of each Holiday on Ice show is approximately 4 million euros.

Venue

A suitable venue for a Holiday on Ice show provides 2,000 - 8,000 seats and a smooth, level floor area measuring 40 by 20 metres, with 10 metres from floor to ceiling at all points within the venue. The venue must be made available at least three days prior to the first performance in order for the crew to make the ice and set up the show, and one day after the last performance in order for the crew to pack up the show and remove the ice floor. The venue must provide at least the following facilities: adequate dressing rooms, storage space, climate control, black-out, spotlight locations, house lighting, chains or cables for overhead lighting and an intercom system.

Local labour

Local personnel must be provided to assist the Holiday on Ice crew to set up, properly present and tear down the show; for example, stagehands, translators, security staff, ushers, ticket takers, spotlight operators and cleaners are required. The promoter is also responsible for arranging for a crane or forklift for unloading and reloading our containers at the venue, as well as the materials to prepare the ice floor as per technical rider.

In addition, our partners must take care of liability insurance, customs, licenses, taxes, work permits, rehearsal facilities and accommodation. For further information, please fill in the contact form.
